You were right about the TC causing the stall. Why it happens is what few understand. If the shop didn't put a gauge on your tranny before selling you the rebuild--red flag. Ask exactly what will be replaced before buying.

While the TC is most likely in need of replacement, there are other reasons for th enging to stall out, low low fluid, pump is weak or leaking, etc. I feel pretty confident with my trans guy. Spent about 30 minutes with him before I even brought the truck to him. And he spent about a day and a half doing diagnostics before he tore into the tranny. He's really good about calling and letting me know what's up before he tears into stuff. I was actually impressed that he'd look at the computer before he wanted to tear down the tranny. Shows that he's really looking at his diagnostics and what it's telling him instead of just the usual old tear it down and call the customer deal. I also spent about 2 hours talking with him in October at a local fair about issues I was having with my truck. He seems very knowledgable about the E4OD and it's weaknesses. In fact he's the one that suggested the TRANSGO kit before I read about it on this site.

So I don't think I've chosen wrongly but thanks for your concern Racerx.
