DUCKS a Pair

A duck walks into a general store and asks the manager,"Gotany fresh fruit?" "No." "Got any fresh vegetables?" "No. We have only canned and dry goods." The next day, the duck returns." Got any fresh fruit?" "No." "Got any fresh vegetables?" "No. I told you yesterday, we have only canned and dry goods. If you come back tomorrow and ask me the same question, I'll nail your flippers to the floor." On the 3rd day, the duck walks in and asks,"Got any nails?" "No." "Got any fresh fruit?"

Wow you need to start vidoe taping all this. OLN would probley come and hang out in your back yard.

ok, don't know if you have identified the ducks yet or not ( no time to read the whole thread ) but I sent the pic to a taxidermy friend who replied:

"These are black-bellied whistling ducks. Very common down here but their range is rapidly expanding. They are year round ducks in that they don't really migrate...kind of like wood ducks. Speaking of which, they are very good on the table also similar to a wood duck. I actually have on in the freezer to mount, just haven't got to him yet. Cool ducks. Only duck I have ever seen sit on a power line like a pigeon...see it frequently down here."

So, they have an identified breed.

A man is driving a pick-up truck down the road with a bunch of ducks standing in the back. A police officer pulls over the driver, informs him that he is speeding and then asks him where he's going with all those ducks. The driver says that he doesn't know what to do with them anymore. The officer says, "Look, there's a zoo not far from here and that's where you should take them." The man thanks the officer and drives off with his ducks.

The next day the officer again sees the same pick-up truck barreling down the road. This time, though, all the ducks in the back are wearing sunglasses. The officer pulls the driver over and says, "I thought I told you to take those ducks to the zoo!" "I did," said the driver, "but now they want to go to the beach!"

look at our new wood pecker,
we now have two of these guys and two of the ones with a red band on his head and really odd looking PLAID feathers in black and white. he is quick and i haven't been able to snap a pic of him yet


i dont think they need a trip to the ZOO

last year we had ZERO wood peckers and now we have a bunch or a flock

Watch them Peckers. A few years ago they tried to eat our cabin in Central Oregon. After patching all the holes and chasing them out of the walls we hung up a bunch of fake owls and they seem to have moved on.

First picture you can see all the little circle pecker patches in the upper part of the siding and in the second you can see one of the fake owls. The owl hoots when a motion sensor sets it off.

in Florida we had one of them over a foot tall peckers eat my entire fascia board on the garage in a weekend......we had carpenter ants and he was helping us out, to find the rotted wood and a new roof


here we are all METAL, roof sides etc. he just goes ding ding and leaves
