Well, it depends on the body of water you are on whether it being 25 feet down is atypical drought conditions, or if it is perfectly normal for this time of year. There are lakes around here that will draw down 85 feet or better in a normal summer. Some of our rivers will range quite a bit, too.

25 feet down could be a lot, or it could be next to nothing, totally depending on what body of water you're on.

Our spring up here was the wettest we've had in years. We were 8 inches ahead at the beginning of June. Now, it is as hot and dry as it normally is, but our lakes and rivers are still quite a bit higher than usual at this time of year. The Spokane River can and will die down to a tiny little trickle in late August, with it being quite a bit down by this time of year, normally, ut right now, it is running like gangbusters. We've lost 9 souls on it so far this year, because it is so much higher and faster than people are used to at this time of year.

Anyway, while I think it has been a pretty hot year, at least where I'm from it certainly doesn't meet what I'd call a drought....
