We've been in a drought this summer only getting a couple of inches of rain since may. This weekend we got 8 inches and in the south east part of the state they received 17 inches. We had some flooding but the S.E. lost roads, bridges, railroad tracks, homes, and lives. We are in a flash flood watch again because they are predicting rain for the rest of the week. I know Dean is heading up from the south so I hope everybody stays safe.

I hear ya! We have flash flood warnings and watches and its not gonna let up for a few days (over here in Ohio). Agreed, stay safe! Sometimes them little puddles in the road turn into rivers.

The news tonite showed 5th wheel rv's washed down stream a mile from one campground to another. The property damage is in the millions.

bunch of Moto Guzzi friends of mine rode up to the nationals
and got caught in that...quick thinking by some who cut others outta
their tents just in time...motorcycles lost...the ENTIRE demo fleet
of motor guzzis was destroyed.

Y'all are getting rain like we had here in NE Texas in the first part of the year. Up through the middle of July, we were having the wettest year ever with over 37 inches. June was the second wettest in history with 11.1 inches. At least the weather service has "officially" declared an end to the drought, although many water districts are still imposing restrictions.

Our drought really isn't over cuz the rains came to late to help the corn and beans. The governor declared a bunch of countys disasters so they will get some aid. There is a shortage of hay and thou's that have extra will make some $$$. We're still in a flash flood watch and the weather man says rains with 1 to 2 inches per hour for tonite. Heading up to the lake of the woods tomorrow for a 4 day walleye fishing trip and it not supposed to rain up there.

Welp, our crops might be in trouble. Shelbys under water, and the river that flooded Shelby runs through our farm. And we are down stream. We were on the dry side too, and i just had the conversation today about how we needed this rain 2 months ago.
