Hi all,

Sorry if this has been posted before.

I'm looking at two trucks, both 2003 7.3's....both crew cab longbeds, both 4wd.

One is a F250 and one is a F350.

Other than the springs, are there any significant drivetrain differences. I know the older F250's had different front differentials but was told after '02 they were the same as a F350....is this true?

Thanks!

the rear blocks are the biggest difference...
youd really have to decode the vin to make sure
of the diff., one could be set up w/ tow package or
plow package etc...hard to know by looking at 'em
unless you REALLY know what to look for.

same thing to know which rear end is in the trucks...
slip or not, 3.73, 4.10, 4.55 etc...could be more diff.
between the trucks than you realize.

Are they both 7.3L or 6.0L? That would be another thing to check out. If one is a 6.0L I would lean towards the 7.3L. They last they make of something is usually better than the first. The 7.3's may not make as much power as the 6.0's but they are damb near bullet proof. :)

Both have the same front axle. Different springs.

Thanks folks!

I bought the F250 based on price....I had a couple days off and was able to pick apart each truck, and the only differences that I could see were the GVW ratings (springs) and the badges.

Couldn't see paying a 2,000 premium for 800 pounds of capacity and badges, of course I don't have a 'real' 1-ton so my friends will probably make fun of me.

Thanks again everyone! ;tu
