I am going to post here because of more activity. Has anyone ever replaced there driveshaft or modified there current to a CV joint out of the transfer case? The lift that I have know has blocks and an add a leaf in the rear, I am using the stock block and the one sent in the kit. When I take off I can feel a small amount of binding and vibration probably because of axel wrap. Will my driveshaft idea correct this or is it better to replace the rear springs?

For every inch of lift you should drop the carrier bearing 1/4 inch. Do not go to a one piece drive shaft either. You will end up cracking the tail shaft case area if you do.

Well all Excursions come with a one piece driveshaft. Does that mean I should replace it with a universal joint?

try putting 2 degree shim between the axle perch and factory block, if you still get vibrabration try a 4 degree shim . gotta play with it . i shimed my carrier down 1" and used 2 dgree shims on the axle and now she takes off smooth as butter
