Can you guys help me with this?
I have this grinding, rubbing, scraping noise coming from what i think to be the right front wheel. It seems to happen on every full wheel revalution. Everything checks out to be fine in that area, brakes, wheel bearings ect. I have made my way to the driveshaft thinking ujoints and found that the mid shaft bearing has a lot of play ( a lot of play ) could it be bad or is this normal or am i missing anything on the front end.

Thanks
Jeff

The bearing itself should not have any play. The rubber that suppors the bearing will have some play but not alot. Those carrier bearings will make a lot of racket if they are bad and you will get a lot of extra vibration in the driveline that you should be feeling in the seat of you pants.
