I installed the pyrometer probe, boost fitting ( not to sure about the fit, I may end up drilling and tapping the turbo and replacing the line that I cut and spliced), and I installed the tranny temp sensor. All lines are through the firewall and are awaiting the finishing touches.

I ordered the exhaust and gauges from DP Tuner on Monday and they arrived yesterday. Really happy about the quick shipping time, not so happy that my wife found the package while I was at work.

The T-fitting for the boost gauge seemed way to small for the line that it was supposed to go into, so I used a few hose clamps to snug the connections up, we will see if it works. On the other hand, there is a good chance that I spliced into the wrong line.

I will say that all of the advise and tips that are posted on this forum, and others, have proved to be dead on accurate.

I will post further progress as it happens. With any luck, the gauges, intake, and exhaust will be complete on Saturday. The wife is leaving town so I have the 6 y/o, 4y/o, and the 2 1/2 y/o all to myself, which is usually less than optimal for getting things done.

I got the gauges installed, exhaust done, tymar intake with along with the zoodad mod. Went for a test drive and everything appeared to work great, with one little problem. On the test drive, my trans temp gauge ran upto 250 degrees. When we got back, the fluid looked fine and smelled fine. I will drive it around a little bit more today and see if the same thing happens with normal driving and no hotrodding.

congrats!
your intuition is right, the trans is not that hot.
a wiring connection at some point is either not good or its shorting out somewhere. probably a ground from the brain box of the guage.

Thats about what I want in a chip too. How do you like your dp? Whats your best fuel mileage loaded and unloaded?

I like the DP tuner very much. I mainly use the 80hp econ. Unloaded I see about 13-14 mpg and any where between 9 - 12 mpg. My 4:88 axle does not help. I normally tow using 60hp tow. I never see EGT's near 900 degrees.
