Well the DP Tuner is installed and all I can say is....WOWOWOWOWOWOW. Power is amazing.

2 things have me worried though:

1. when i flip it to high idle (1200 rpm with ebpv closed) it starts smoking. I just recently cleaned the tube out, and the valve is definately works because I can hear it close up.

2. in the econo mode, when shifting from gears 2 - 3...its just sloppy. jody said he knew i didnt have a shift kit and would make it work without it. I gotta give him a call in the morning and talk to him, but it just hangs when im really getting into it. I'm worried something is wrong. Does he make it do this for economy reasons? I dont notice it as much on the 120 race tune.

any ideas?

1. I don't have a high-idle tune, so I can't be goin' to tellin'

2. I think it has something to do with how the chip interacts with the adaptive memory in the ECM. Sometimes mine shifts like mushy oatmeal, other times it slams the crap outta the driveline.

JL, IIRC you have the 60hp tow and 80hp econo right?

You got it spot on with the mushy oatmeal I talked with Jody and he said he has taken out virtually all of the increase line pressure on the econo becuase he had a lot of customers say that it slammed to hard and they wanted something soft since they weren't hot rodding it.

He's testing out a new tune and will probably end up reflashing mine with it to help adjust the shifting pressure.

Do you have a shift kit in yours? I dont and was curious as to whether or not others were experiencing these issues that have or dont have shift kits.

I would think that it smokes a little because it dumps a little more fuel. I doubt it is an issue since I have that too.

so you do have smoke at high idle? Jody had said he had never heard of it happening before. what rpm do you have it at? ebpv closed or open? mine is closed at 1200 rpm

Don't compare mine with yours at this time though. I have AC stage II injectors and EBPV removed with a Van Turbo. A little different setup.

When I had stock injectors and stock turbo, I noticed that there was a little more white smoke for the first couple of minutes. Again, I did the AIH delete so that is to be expected. It idled around 1200-1300 give or take.

yea i have my AIH removed as well, but were you experiencing the smoke with stock injectors y, he and turbo? When I talked with Jody he looked over my tune and made sure it was exactly the same as stock except he closed the ebpv and idled it up to 1200. i hope theres nothing wrong with my truck?

I didn't get the EBPV function changed. That part was stock and it did idle at 1200 or so. Yes, there was a little smoke. It was white smoke for a bit so I am not sure if it was over fueling or not. How many miles do you have? Are the injectors in good shape or are they dripping fuel instead of making a fine mist? Maybe that is you problem. I had a diesel car that smoked a little too much and cleaning the injectors helped. Not necessarily your problem but an angle to look at.
