I did it on my 97. I wouldn't say it easy, but no bad overall. You have to cut the old one in half to get it out. I think it took me and hour or so. The prices vary. I'd say anywhere from 100-200. If I were you, I'd go with an MBRP or Grand Rock. Both are good fits. So are the Diamond eye pipes. The diamond eye pipes are probably a little cheaper. That's what I have. No complaints. Get a full turbo back system if you're doing the downpipe. (if the wallet allows) Hope this helps a little

Had to cut the original in half to get it out on an 02. Might have come out in one piece if you want to remove the transmission crossmember. The new 4" was a tight fit, but with a little patience it goes in. A tight fit, just make sure you have clearance all the way around before you tighten the clamp.

What ↑↑↑ they ↑↑↑ said. Contact the guys at DPPI, they can hook you up with whatever you need, be it DP, cat delete or the whole system and they are great to deal with. The DP should run you right at 100 bucks and take you an afternoon to change.
