Door seals

I did the tubing through the door seals trick last weekend. I REALLY like I quite it is, but man is it hard to shut the doors now. I knew it would be, but man....I HATE slamming my doors and now I really have to to get them shut.

Has anyone that has done this had any ill effects? Doors latches breaking or anything like that?

Mine were a bear to shut afterwards, too, but they have gotten a little better over time.

Ive been running like this for the better part of 2 yrs...no ill effects...
the thing to do is to follow thru on your pull (or push) of the door...
you cant push it shut and let off of it...the door will pop back against
the tubing.

another trick is to crack a window a little when you pull the door shut
and youll get it the 1st time.

Did you use the pipe tubing or the foam cord?

i used the clear poly tube...the foam will eventually go
flat

I did mine but I used the 1/2 foam cord, being that I have an OBS I had to use this size, mine are tight but you have to use a little more effort

Ok I have read the DIY and tried to figure out what piping you use for doing this. If somebody could please point me in the right direction to buy some tubing I would really appreciate it. Need some of that to quit the doors and need to dynomat the back of the cab because of the stacks.

Lowe's or Home Depot... it's used for a variety of residential and commercial applications...

i did a big write up for it (w/out photos) that talked about the hose size...
and damm if i can find the details or the hose size...when i did it
the poly tube was about 12cents a foot.
