Hmmm, any of you SuperDuty guys wanna confirm the existance of the GEM in the 02 and newer models? I'm thinking Ford went away from the GEM and replaced it with the Vehicle Security Module. But I'm just a OBS guy so I'm not sure 'bout that.

You are right about the Vehicle Security Module (VSM) but i think the GEM and VSM control a lot of the same functions

Are there any problems with the interior lights?
Does it tell you which door ir open or is it just door ajar dummy light?

Sounds like it might be a ground problem with the VSM.

No problems with the interior lights they turn on and off like normal, and they work with the dimmer and everything. the light that is on the dash is on all the time and all four doors on the little truck are open, and i don't think my truck has the ability to tell me which door is open. bad_bad_bubba can you tell me where the ground for the VSM is at and i will check it out and clean it and see what happenss.

I dont know where the ground is for this on your truck. The VSM and the door locks all us the same ground point acording to my book. You should also check fuse #7 again. If it not one of these two things the you might have a switch stuck or gone bad in one of the door jams (my guess would be the driver door).

The switches on the doors are all good because i tried them out on my dads truck and they worked fine. I guess i will take off of the door pannel and clean everything up and go from their. Thanks
