im happy w/ it...the remote start is kinda cool...set the AC to max
when i get outta the truck (and turn it off)...then IF i remote start
it later (or the next day) at least the AC is blowin' cold by the time
i get in.

same could be said for heat (if i ever needed any...which i rarely do)

the remote cool down / shut off timer is cool too...for those times when
i DONT wanna sit and wait for the (egt) temp to come down.

im sure there are better...1mi range is ok...not what you would think...
but i cant imagine how worthless the conventional range would be.

truth be known i WISH i didnt have to buy one...but at the same time
id have saved my self at least 600 bucks if i had installed the damm thing
EARLIER (as they said....i didnt think it could happen to me...but apparently
everyone says im the only one that THOUGHT that about our truck).

2way paging alarms, which include remote start, cool down / shut down
timer, glass break & zone (doors/hood) will typically set you back
about 400 or so buck...you can spend more...lots more...you can have em
roll up (or down) windows at the touch of the key fob remote too.

oh and the lock/unlock the doors (and have a blinking light) and alarm siren.

i bought a VIPER 5900SST (1 mile range to/from the remote/fob)...i paid
450 for the alarm, including installation...(out the door).
See what I mean. It's never ending what I can do to my truck. Just when I thought I was clear of Mod syndrom I find a thread like this ^^^^^^. This will be on my next to do list.

the ALARM shouldnt be a wish list...it should be a MUST HAVE,
DO NOT PASS GO (until youve installed one).

houston tv station last night showed EVERYONE how quickly they
can pop the door on the dodge (less than 2seconds) and be in the
truck...the guy had the radio out in under 10seconds (from the
time they said "go") and he drove the truck OFF (using nothing
but a pair of vise grips) all in less than 25 seconds !

yeah and they show that all over the country so everyone can see how to do it....the media in this country is something else:doh:

which is another reason to upgrade the superduty:thumbs

No reason to let it Idle for more then 30 Seconds anyway!!

you're right...but good grief whats the world coming to....what happend to the day you could roll up to the local station....hop out with your truck still on....go inside.... say good morning to the clerk "who you've known for years"....get your donuts and coffee.....pay for it....say "have a good day"....walk out after holding the door for Mrs. Whoever....get in your truck and drive off ready for a great day.

But your right...in todays world don't let your truck idle...shut it off...lock the doors....arm it...and be done with it!-mad
