I finally gathered the bucks I needed, and called Bean's this morning.

I'm also getting a new pedestal w/o the EBPV actuator.

Now I just have to sit tight and see how long it all takes to arrive on a little brown truck.

FWIW: I plan on taking some pics comparing the early 99 stock turbo along side of the D66. I've never seen any pics posted. To this point, a D66 is kinda like Bigfoot, everybody's heard of it, but nobody's seen one.

Be sure to show us :D

I am kicking around the idea of a new set of squirter's, D66 and a intercooler. My truck has had all the power I needed until I added the camper and now at 16,000# + I am needing a little more getup and go. Let us know how it performs :sweet

Update:

I heard from Bean. Apparently, the 1.0 wastegated exhaust housings for the D66 are back ordered right now. I need the wastegated housing so I can retain my exhaust brake. It's a good thing I'm on lay-cation right now, being down to 1 vehicle in the house could otherwise be tough.

So for now, it looks like I have to wait. -popcorn

When they coming in?
Don't know, he didn't say. Being on Bean's side of the counter as a RV parts guy, I can understand how the dealer is often caught in the middle between the supplier and an impatient customer.

Hell just use your old housing.
The stock turbine/exhaust housing is .84 or.87, I don't recall which number exactly. But the important point is that a D66 has a 1.0 housing which has less restriction and less EGT. It also spins the turbo slower. From what I understand, the D66 has a bigger compressor wheel which moves more air & builds more boost all while turning more slowly. If you try spining a D66 at a faster speed with a .84/.87 housing, I suspect you'll just end up breaking a shaft.

It's only been 3 days since I ordered it. I'm on lay-off until spring and it's gettin' friggin' chilly outside. I can wait a bit. My neighbor helped me get my new snowblower for my tractor home today so I'm no longer in a big hurry. I can wait a bit to get the right stuff.

I see, I was just curious. I have never really heard the specs on the 66 so I wasn't for sure.

Let it know how things go.
