as a matter of fact, you can.

comes with brushes, too.

but that alternator does not have a rectifier, like the GM alternator does

does it not charge at all (regulator)

or does it charge poorly (stator winding)

where is the bus today?
really? i thought our regulators were built into the alternator and you just replaced the whole dang thing? mines dead right now, (on the 03) been looking at DB alternators, they have one in chrome if you so choose, or a 200 amp setup if you have lots of stuff going on. their stock replacement 135 amp is only 100$ plus shipping, but no core required.

how in depth is it to change the regulator and brushings? mine im pretty sure is not charging at all, and the exciter wire is hot.

Found a regulator at J&N auto electric cincinnati ohio . $30 for the reg now the question is my alt was producing under 10 volts i assume, could that mean the windings are in question? Does anyone know if there is an Ohm reading that can be taken to check them?
