Yes, the gauges will tell you a good bit about what is going on. I have those three and a fuel pressure gauge. As far as power falling off in the upper rpm ranges, it's not uncommon in stock HPOP truck with stock injectors and tuning, but it is usually accompanied by a SES light.

I got the gauges in today and they look sweet! Im still tryin to figure my out my next step. I dont seem to have slippage from the TQ. When cruising up a hill in overdrive at 55 or 65 and give it gas it does not slip it just boosts up and goes. So i guess the TQ is alright for now. I raced a guy in a gasser 4 door dodge yesterday and won, but it just seems not to move at high RPMs and sometimes down shifts for about a second and then up shifts again into
2nd gear then goes until the upshift into 3rd gear and poops out again. When shifting to second gear (when floored) it shifts hard and usually barks the tires and is off. Please help! Any suggestions would be great.

you might look into installing a shift kit. that would certainly help with the gear hunting you are experiencing. how much boost are you making? egts? how hot does your tranny run? make sure that when you run it hard, you have the tranny warmed up.

I always baby her until she is warm. Making about 23- 25 lbs of boost. I need to check egts and tranny temp. When I run the stock tune the truck shifts silky smooth. Which shift kit is the best for my truck? How difficult is it to install?

02O-

you are making plenty of boost. pyro will tell you how hot things are. tranny temp may not change much unless you are towing.

you should really talk to jody to see what he recommends. his tuning changes lots of the engine's parameters. you have experienced that already. his tunes lock up the TC over 35 mph (i am going by memory). at the worst, you may have your chip reburned. its no biggie.

when i ordered my tunes, i told him i wanted to upgrade my valve body. after some discussion about my needs, we discussed my options and vendors he has worked with and his experiences. i decided to go with a modded valve body from a reputable trans builder.

jody told me to tell the trans builder that i was getting tunes from jody and to give him some parameters.

so jody programmed for my truck and my engine and trans mods and in the end, i am happy and my truck is happy too.

02 do you get any flutter in the boost gauge when you lay into it on the freeway or is it just a smooth rise in boost. I am getting alot of flutter in the boost gauge and I can here a leak somewere but still have not pin pointed it. Have a buddy that is going to a MAP mod for me. I'll post pics and a write up when we do this. He has a 7.3 dually and runs 27-32 PSI on the boost gauge.
