did anyone see the article in the diesel power mag about changing a resistor on the circut board on the IDM? this would be diferent than a resistor mod(edge EZ:cussing:). also would it be worth my while to swap injectors with the larger later models?

if youre running a 7.3 the idm mod is worth the extra couple dollars for resistors if you know how to solder.or find somebody that knows how to do it to do it for you.i can sell you one already modded.150.00 plus your stocker that must work!

the later model injectors are split shots, and require different timing. more than just the injectors would need to be swapped. we have several site sponsors that sell DIY injector mod kits to make yours flow more, or they can sell you a bigger set of single shots.

although i havent done mine yet, i know a few people that have bought one that has been modified and they said it makes a difference. i dont think i have heard of one single ill side effect on any of the forums, so i plan on doing mine.

the modded idm will give you a slight but noticable increase in lower end torque, wich is nice if you tow heavy or push snow.you will also gain very little, just barely enough to notice increase in fuel mileage.definately not worth talkin about anyways

It does produce some more power. It has the most bang for your buck. Considering it only costs about 30 minutes of your time, a $.10 resistor, and some grey RTV. You do have to be pretty good at soldering though. I bought 4 packs (5/pk) of resistors, 3 mini toggles, and 30ft of wire for less than $20. Did the IDM mod and 10K mod on 4 trucks so far. It may be a minimal amount of HP/torque gain, but well worth it.

Is this the same mod that is obsolete with a superchip programming? isnt there a tutorial on this mod somewhere?

i saw a how-to.....not sure if its in the wiki on this site?

the idm mod is to increase the firing voltage to the injectors, makes them respond quicker. the chips dont touch that.
