I HAVE 1999 F350 PSD. WHEN I DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY AND GET TO 74 MPH A DINGING SOUND COMES FROM THE FUSE BLOCK UNDER THE DASH. I CAN GO FASTER THAN 74 BUT THE DINGING IS STILL THERE . BUT IF I BACK IT DOWN TO 72 I GOES AWAY . NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET RID OF IT

Hey Shad - Welcome to SDD :sweet

First thing is that you need to turn the caps lock off. When you type in all caps it means that your yelling -

As for the dinging sound - got me at the moment. If she was older of course I would say it's your speedo cable - but to not ding at 72 and then ding at 74 - hmmmmm . . .

Looking at your firewall area on that side - got any holes that are not plugged up? Maybe where you passed some wires or something. How about gauges - have anything mounted on the A pillar?

I just bought an early 99 standard cab with 78,000 miles on it. It also dings when it goes over 74 mph. This pickup was an upgrade from my last gas gussling f-150.

Where are you guys located? outside of the US?

I know all of our vehicles we use (regardless of manufacturer) in the middle east have some kind of chime, bell, or light letting us know that we are going over 120 kph... isnt that about 74 mph... ill have to look it up.

*EDIT* yup 120 kph = 74.5645431 mph

interesting, (a few rhetorical questions) are you the first owner? i wonder if a previous owner bought the truck out of country and had it shipped here. Is this beepinging just a recent thing or did you just buy the truck and noticed it.

Anyway, i would take it to the dealer and ask them to remove the beeping. Like i said it sounds like the buzzer that is manditory for GCC p-cars. They should be able to disable it.

If the dealer cant help then i dont know. :(

I am the second owner of the pickup. I bought it three months ago and its beeped every time i've had it past 74. I,m going to have a dealership look in to it.
