diference in bed size

does anyone know if they changed the bed size on superduty in 08.asking because found a great deal on truck cap but said it came off of an 08, i have an 03,measurements seem to be same when i measured top and then measured truck bed,just wonder if their was something that would not let it fit properly?thanks for any help.

Beds are the same. But... the tailgates are different. Find out if the cap is for a tailgate with or without step. If it is without step it might work but you still may have alignment issues with the locks. The '08 tailgates are a little wider on top than previous models. Or you could just upgrade to an '08 tailgate at the same time and get the tailgate and cap painted at the same time.

i guess for the price it is worth the chance, it,s a leer cap and it is very close to the same color, can get for $150 and it looks to be in perfect shape!So if it came from one without a step it might work?and will an 08 tailgate bolt right in?always wanted the step!!Going to buy tomorrow guess if have major problems can always get my money back out of it.

i could probally modify the lock arms with some offset ones if need be couldn't i?Iguess thats what you call them, the tabs that go against the tailgate.

I have an 08 bed on my truck and you would never know because i have 06 tailights and gate, I have an 08 bumper on it though.

Normally the lock arms latch against the inside of the cap opening. Take a look to see if the glass will sit flush against the cap when it is down. If it does you shouldn't have a problem.

Bought it today and fits perfect,came off one with a step in the tailgate.thanks for all the replies,hope this might help someone else in future.
