The "Heater Core by-pass" was one of the first creature Mods I did (02). When you can cruise around in 100+ heat, with the fan on low.. in by-level mode.. It's gota be a Good.. Thing.

I got the dieselsite.com kit. All the pieces & parts.. 1 hour job.

A/C Related ?

I just cleaned and flushed a double handful of bugs, dirt and chaff out of the A/C condenser, I/C and Radiator this AM. Even a Candy wrapper.

Used a stiff brush, then 60 psi air, then back flushed all three with house psi water.

Amazing the amount of crap that was jammed up in there.

Gota have an effect on cooling/condensing capabilities.. I would think ??

for anyone that wants the ranger valve. its can be found on a 97 3.0l ranger. cost is $18 + the 1/8" t fitting and 3' of 7/32" vacume line so $20
any vacume operated heater valve with the right size inlet and outlet will do. cut one out at the junk yard for $5

Cold Rush

My 03 7.3 had the factory valve on it, so Bob Riley sold me the Cold Rush. When I go to the SJ Valley for my town job, it gets over 100 easy. I now cant use the Max AC setting...and I like it cold in the truck!!!
Install was a snap, too.
dieselsite rocks!!

I think this is my next mod, after I check to see if I have one already installed. If I already have one (which I doubt) then I will go with the Cold Rush upgrade. Wish I had seen this earlier!

Joe, did you remove the condensor, radiator, etc. to backflush it all? seems like that could be a job!

No.

Back WASH.. would have been a better choice of words. :sorry

I use a small nozzle that puts out a Fan patterned spray.. Like you would use on a sidewalk ??

Backwash everything from the inside, out, working from the top down.

With the air flow.. The Condenser was dirty.. I/C, not to bad, Radiator just dusty.

I only used the brush on the condenser, cuz It... takes the the major Hits.

Go Slow and be ready git wet.... if you do it.

I was going to get on but my truck has it already, so I change the orifice tube to a smaller hole size and the system gets colder. I still not happy with it. It's fine at night or when overcast it well freeze you out of the truck but at hwy speed it sucks.
The PSI on both side are dead on. I dont know, thinking a undrive unit. Any Ideas???
