Diesel-powered patrol cars?

Don't know if any of you have seen this, but a buddy sent me this link so I thought I'd share. It's a diesel-powered prototype purpose-built law enforcement patrol car by Police Car for Police | Carbon Motors Corporation

I'm sure there are tons of budget limitations and politics involved, but you'd think someone woulda built one of these a long time ago- seems like a no-brainer! Says it will include:

-3.0L Forced Induction Diesel RWD
-runs on ULSD/Bio
-300hp/420ft lbs tq
-6spd auto
-18"x8" steel wheels

and much MUCH more!
