Here on the west coast regular gas is $2.45 per gallon. Diesel is $2.98 per gallon.

1. Diesel costs less to produce than gasoline.
2. Oil companies know that we have more expensive trucks than gas rigs, so therefore they want to charge us more per gallon on fuel that costs them less to make. "higher profits" at our expense. What a rip off. Of course our government does not say a word, because they get the taxes on the fuel. We need to start a email campaign. Did anyone notice how fuel prices came down before the elections, and then went up after the elections, all for no apparent reason? Did anyone in our government ask why?

Just blowing off some steam.

We were at $ 2.32.9 and now we are back up to $2.45.9

Sound East Michigan - anywhere from $2.52 to $2.65 (in high rent neighborhoods).

Initially I associated higher pricing for diesel (less refined than gas) due to heating oil industry competition (this was all following Katrina and damage to rigs in the gulf) but I've given-up trying to figure this out.

1. False info
2. More false info and propaganda.

Venting and blowing off steam is fine, but get some facts.

For those of you who have your mind made up that there is a conspiracy theory between the government and oil companies and that its a big money gouge scheme, there is nothing I can say or show you that will convince you otherwise. For those of you who are intersted in finding out what production costs are, what EPA regulations are and what really happens in the oil and gas industry I encourage you to seek truthful info, its out there.

I see in another thread that Max is getting ready to drop another 25K or so on a 5ver... fuel prices have pushed anybody away from doing things they enjoy yet.

in the wise words of rodney king,

"cant we all just get along, cant we?" :roflmao :roflmao :roflmao

i look at it this away, its a neccasary evil for me. i have to have fuel to run my trucks, i would be lookin for a cardboard box to sleep in if i just let them sit and complained about the high prices.

do i like having to pay over 2.50 a gallon for fuel, NO. but i have no choice, what we have done is go up on the prices for transporting cars, or charge anywhere from 6% to 12% fuel surcharges, and alot of dealers, brokers are fine with it.

we have also kept our trucks mainly over here on the souht east to north east runs, because the turn around time and pay is better that if we ran east to west and west back to the east.

and i am sure that regional companies have done the same.

mike, i do agree with on your point, it is kindly silly (sorry maxtor, no offense) to pay 50 grand for a truck, and complain about fuel prices being higher.

i have had to watch myself about the same thing.

i also believe, that during these slow and difficult times for us, if i am diligently striving to serve the Lord and obey his Word. He has promised to take care of us with food, drink, and raiment. (Matthew 6:33)

i will now step down from my soapbox, thanks for listening.
