Did some more projects today....

Did the "Heater Core Bypass" mod today, and also flushed my tranny per the "tranny flushing instructions" and switches to the Mobil-1 synthetic.

I had to go to 4 different Auto-zones to round up 20 quarts. Cleaned em all out!

I should have pics up in the next day or so. Not really a whole lot to show.

Took me longer to flush the tranny, then to install the heater bypass!! hahahaha.

Oh, almost forgot, also installed the "Headlight Upgrade Harness" mod. Bought a pre-wired kit from GOS Performance. Another fairly quick and brainless upgrade. Now just need to run a diode between my high and low beams so that the lows stay on with the highs. Shouldnt really do that unless you have the upgraded harness.

OK, shower time, im "clean" from the tranny fluid, but i still feel greasy.

Daryl, any concerns about the heat that'll be generated with both elements blazing? My OEM headlight enclosures are CRAP -mad Earlier this year I removed them to clean the inside since over time that good ole GA clay finds its way in there, and with just soap and water close to HALF my reflective material just washed right off. leaving me a nice dull yellowish plastic.

I pick up 4 or 5 qts every time I go the AutoZone and this keeps me from your problem and kind of spreads the money hurt out a little also.

I have APCs now, and they should be able to handle the heat.

I know what your talking about tho. When I drilled my parkinglights and brake lights to install my strobe bulbs, the "chrome" material inside was VERY thin.

I have had the "Brightbox" on for 2+ years with out any heat problems.

Did another project today. Added a diode to my headlight upgrade harness to enable "high/low" at the same time. Took all of 10 minutes, and cost all of 2 dollars.

Even took pics so others can do it.

Its a 10 dollar option on the blackcloud diesel upgrade harness. The GOS Performance harness that I bought doesnt have that as a listed option, but either way, its a do it yourself modification.

I am literally headed outside to install my Sonnax/Tricumulator kit and my Mag-Hytec pan right now. Is doing the flush pretty easy? I have the Mobil-1 ATF sitting here, but I was gonna take it to a shop with a flush machine tomorrow?

How complete is flushing it this way? Any problems to watch for?

Ya, what ^ said. I also posted it in the WIKI.

OK, drain the OLD oil and remove the OLD PAN.

Do your sonnax/tri-cummulator install.

Install NEW mag-hytec pan.

Fill with 7 quarts, PLUS however much "additional" that a mag-hytec holds.

Pump out the oil via the return line just like the WIKI says.

Since a mag-hytec pan is DEEPER (it is right?), and the factory pickup can only grab so deep, you shouldnt need to "add additional" to the final refill's. The "extra" capacity will still be in the bottom of the pan since the pickup tube isnt going to be able to grab it.

So, instead of 20 quarts, you'll prolly need like 22 or 24 or however many quarts the mag-hytec holds over the stock pan.

Since your doing work on the valvebody, your gonna lose about a quart just in drippage and valve bodies emptying. Oh, and your gonna get slimy. I hope you have a BIG catch pan.

MAKE SURE you shift thru the gears while pumping the tranny fluid out the return line, especially since you'll have drained them from changing the sonnax valves.

OH, just got back in. Another project down.

Hardwired by 110v AC invertor under the back seat and got my Playstation-2 installed and hooked up to my In-Dash monitor.

Engine oil change happens this week and *THEN* I should be all set for my trip home!! w00 h00!!!
