Diagnostic programs for the laptop?

Ok guys I have a laptop I use on my 1996 7.3L

I can do all the tests and even a dashboard and record.


What do I do for the 2004 6.0L ? The program will not connect to the PCM nor communicated with anytrhing in the 04.


Any Ideas?

I too am interested in a diagnostic program for my lap top. I have an 03 6.0 and would be interested in a program. I just might cut the stealerships out of a little dough.Or better yet,just git some of mine back!

what program are you currently using ?

I dont know WHEN mfg's went to CAN (network) diagnostics but
it was sometime after 96 (cause my old scanner doesnt work
worth speaking about).


I use autoenginuity its not cheap but they keep it up to date...and
although you dont have to, you can pay for updates beyond year 2
of ownership (50 bucks per year)

generic OBDII scanners arent worth the money anymore...all the mfg's
have gone to a system which basically hides all the data (other than
generic obdii codes).

these days you REALLY need good diagnostic & testing software to
determine the real cause of the problem.
