Delete or replace EGR Cooler

I like it- looks like that oil cooler is just the element, so you will have a little more work after you get the old one out to r&r it from the cover. That is not shown on the service manual page I posted but it shouldnt be too bad. For cleaning, Ford makes a coolant flush for that purpose, dont remember if it is motorcraft vc-7 or vc-9, but it is called iron cleaner. It should remove iron sludge, and your filter should get any casting sand left in the block. My intake manifold was incredibly dirty when I got it off, so with a combination of some carb-dip, a bottle brush and a hot pressure washer I got it shiny inside and out.

The element is all I need. The casting is not hurt so no need to replace it. Take a socket to knock out the element and then press it back in to the cover ever so lightly. I am worried that if I run the restore VC9 to clean the crap out of the system would that cause it to stop up the new oil cooler element???????????
