degas cap leaks

As long as your coolant level is at the MIN line or just below then your coolant level is fine. Ford released a redesigned cap as well, did you recgonize if that was different than the orginal one you replaced? Sorry I don't have pics of this myself I'll have to take some and link them later.

I replaced the EGR and did not see any liquid inside. I don't see white smoke. I will have to check out the EGR cooler though to make sure.




I agree with you on this one.

Did you pressure test it when you had the EGR valve out?

The dealer did mine, and I didn't see them do it. They must have a modified or special degaus cap that has a fitting to pressurize, or they tee into one of the hoses with a fitting to pressurize. It seems that teeing in would be good because you could see if your cap is holding 16 psi. Hopefully others will jump in here w/ more input that have done this test. Remember about the potential hydraulically locked cylinder that I mentioned in my earlier post. If you have doubts, let the dealer do this for you. They are extremely familiar w/testing for an EGR cooler leak; believe that!
