Dealer to pull codes?

I was pondering taking my truck into the dealer to see if I can get the codes pulled. I will go in with this line "tell me what is wrong, and give me a figure on how much $ it will cost to fix it and we'll go from there."

Of course I plan on getting the codes, and fixing the problem(s) myself if I can, but will they do this? I'm sure there will be a charge, what should I expect?

I was told $75 "diagnostic" fee for even connecting. I said no.

if you find someone with a bully dog power pup, or a superchips (and im pretty sure almost any other programer) you can ask them to hook it up and just give you the codes and the you can look em up.

Will they pull all the codes? Will it say there was a power programmer on my truck if I do that?

Anyone near me (elkton, md) with one of those?

when you plug em in you can select read code and it will give you numbers and then you can cross reffrence them with http://superdutydiesel.com/wiki2/tiki-read_article.php?articleId=7
