I'm looking at upgrading to a 2005 F250 Lariat but want the dash features of instant MPG, Miles to empty, etc. etc. so my question is did all these trucks get these features or what?

First off Welcome to SDD.com

I believe only the Lariat, King Ranch, and Harley Davidson trucks had those features, and they are standard. Oh, it's not instant MPG though, it's, average MPG's, and it's highly inaccurate, as they are in most vehicles ;tu

Ok thanks I thought that was the case it is just that on most for sale display pictures they only show the miles on the truck and that doesn't show the avg. mpg display but on others they have both, I guess maybe the avg. mpg only shows up when the truck is running.

The things other than mileage only show up with the engine running, and only show one at a time, you have to cycle through them via a button to the right of the steering column. ;tu

I have the overhead display which shows:
average mpg, outside temp, dist. to empty & compass heading.

I dont know what trucks the overhead display was an option
on, but its on my lariat...the displayed average mpg is rarely
off my more than a tenth or two.

The dashboard changed between the 04's and 05's. I like the later dash better.

In 05 they changed it to an IN dash display, incorporated into the same LCD panel as the odometer, instead of the console. Plus it has a few more functions, like system diagnostics, but I don't know how good they are, but I regularly check mine.

Engine hours is one of the nice features added to the in dash display.
