Jerry probably found a "yes" man. I listened to a good bit of the news conference this afternoon, and Jerry did say at the end that he would do an A+ job of not interfering with the coach. Guess we'll have to sit back and see how long that lasts. Another interesting point was the fact that he said it was unusual to lose a head coach after a team went to the playoffs. He said that happened before after they went to a SuperBowl, but he wuoldn't elaborate too much. You could tell there's probably still some "bad blood" between him and Jimmy Johnson.

Tonight I heard Babe Lafenberg (now a sports anchor on the local CBS station) say that he thought Jones was leaning toward Turner last weekend at the SuperBowl. There must have been something that steered Jones toward Phillips. Of course, Jones likes defensive minded coaches.

wade phillip's sister is a teacher at my school. when she found out about it this morning. she packed up and left rather quickly

yeah she was at the news conference. surprised me a little when i found out about it. i was talking to her at the school when she got the phone call too.
