Well I mounted my Dahl 100. Finished at about 9:30pm. I mounted it kinda like Big Joe I think. Bracket for frame mounting will have to wait for the moment.

I have air bubbles coming into the inspection bowl area.:cussing: I only started it after priming it the best I could. It's only ran 5 mins max. It's dark and the concrete is kinda cold. Still have to look for leaks in the morning. Will this air dissipate or do I have an air problem that I need to chase?:(

TIA!

I had significant air after first mounting mine. I think there are lots of nooks and crannies that the air hides inside the Dahl at first. I still have a minor air issue though. But it is MUCH smaller/slower than what I saw after first install. Eventually I plan to drop my tank again and run 3/8 hose straight to the tank, check on the in-tank mods status after 3 years, and probably switch to Aeroquip smooth radius fittings at the Dahl. Oh and chamfer any metal line lips along the way too. Not sure when I'll get a chance to do this. Also need to find the Aeroquip fittings.

I'd just run it for a couple days and see if it goes away. You introduce a lot of air into the system when you open it up. If it does not go away, then start chasing the problem. I would start by putting a length of clear hose in-line before the Dahl to see if there is air. That way, you can tell if the Dahl is causing it, or if it is coming from somewhere "pre-Dahl".

Well my 2 year old daughter and I went out to get coffee, juice, and a bagle sandwich. I drove around until the Evo told me I had 150 degree oil. After that, the air is small bubbles unlike last night. They were large bubbles last night. Fingers crossed it will dissipate.:)

Looks almost identical to the way I did mine. Heres what I did to get rid of the air:

Close the outlet valve. Drop the filter assembly down from the bracket. Turn it upside down in a pan and let it sit for a minute. Any air will rise to the (now) top of the sight bowl, open the drain valve. The air will bleed off. (Because the filter assembly is now, >much< lower than the tank, a siphon will occur) Close the valve, let it sit again for a few minutes.... bleed off more air, if any. What little air, that may be left in the system now, will purge as you run the engine.

My think'n on it, anyway.

Worked for me.

Thanks guys!:sweet

Guess I'm just paranoid about everything.:roflmao I'll give her a flip this afternoon. I flipped it once last night after the initial priming. Hopefully I won't have to chase air.

No More Air

Air has stopped.:thumbs

Still gotta flip it to get the bubble out that built up under the depressurizer cone.

I would swear it runs smoother. Guess the 99 cent filter was creating more problems than I thought. Fuel pressure's a little more stable but still can't quite keep up with demand.
