Injectors could very well be the heart of all your problems. If it's easier to PM the pics then go ahead, if not just postem up here. Thanks

well it doesnt exactly get cold here in fl,but after it sits for 8 hours or so it smokes, 160k miles on it now.fuel filter was changed about 600 miles ago, fuel color didnt look irregualr to me,looked normal.
just did the tests again, heres the results:
test one-cylinder 1,6 contribution balance fault
test two-cylinder1,4,6 contribution balance fault
test three- cylinder 1,4,6 contribution balance fault.
do these tests mean bad news for me?truck seems to run fine.

could still be valve seals.but if those 3 cylinders keep comeing up in the CCT then id have to say it may be an injector issue especially with 160,000 on it.

so it may be wise to pull em and put some o rings in huh.injectors i mean.i just have a couple q's,when i take em out, shouldnt i take out the ones closest to front, then work back so iol drains to one cylinder? also what could i use to get the fluid and oil out of cylinder, ive heard of the syringe and hose, any other ways?also are the oil plugs to relieve the pressure under vc or outside on engine block?do i need to do anything with fuel system?

I hope you figure this out cause my truck has been doing the same thing. Glad I took a look at your post. What happens if you plug it in overnight and try to start it :hail

Every thing that yours is doing. Heavy smoke on startup in the morning or after sitting for over 5 hours. It will not smoke in the mornings if I have it plugged in over night. The temp at night right now has been about 45 degrees. I had all the glow plugs replaced last year and the GPR about a month ago. I am starting to think injectors.

yea,i wish i would have just replaced the o rings while i was doing the gp's but i hadnt even investigated the smoke prob yet,ill try and wait till i can get a set of diy injector kits.does your truck run hot, egts i mean, especially when towing?

you say if you plug it in the night before it doesnt smoke,if your o rings were bad,i dont think it would matter if it was plugged in or not, what color smoke?have you checked the resistance of the glow plugs?are you sure you have power to the relay?ever done a compression test?

Smoke is a blueish white. I have not gotten the gauge yet for the EGT. I do have power to the relay. I have not done a compressiontest yet. I will be taking mine in to my shop in the next few weeks when I get some time off of work. Hope the can get this figured out since I don't have the time right now.:dizzy
