Found a custom spring shop that will make new U-Bolts any length for only $10 each!!!! My ???? is do I need to take a u-bolt to go by then just add some length or can I just take the measurements with me. If taking the measurements with me route will work ...does anyone have the specifications?

you should beable to just take the measurments and give them to the spring shop....they should have some already made up for a stock application and if you need them longer, shouldn`t be a problem for them to bend up new ones...just my :2c

All that the spring shop should need is the length of the of U-bolt (right around the entire U plus what you want to add) and the axle tube diameter. If you are installing a 2" block add 4", 3" block add 6", 4" add 8" and so on. I think the axle tube diameter is 3 5/8" but I'm not 100% sure.

you shouldnt need measurements either.tell them the year, make, model of the truck and what size lift blocks you want to use.or bring the truck to them before tearing it apart and they will get the measurements they want themselves.ive got a springshop here that dont need any info unless you are adding springs or lift blocks.the guy knows what size U bolt every truck takes in his head.

I agree with 94f450sd. Most spring shop guys know the measurements right off the top of their head but then their's the odd guy that doesn't have a clue.

Hey guys, not to hijack this thread, but where is about the cheapest place to get longer u bolts from? I put zero rate springs on my SD in the back and need u-bolts that are 15-16" long. I'd rather not go down to the local parts store and pay a mint for some u-bolts. Thanks

Ok got the u-bolts made and ready to go on the truck. But just to make sure I do this right...I am using 3"factory blocks and noticed they have a taper (taller on one end than the other ) does the smaller end go toward front or rear? Also does the factory block with the "wing" sticking out go on top of the 3" block or under it? THanks
