My Neighbor bought a 96 powerstroke with an auto tranny about 4 months ago. When he bought it the cruise was not working and still isn't. Any Ideas. Thanks in advance guys.:thanks

It might be as simple as dirty contacts on the switches. Pop the horn cover off and clean them with a pencil eraser and then with alcohol.

Good luck

There's a pressure switch mounted on the top of the master cylinder, If it is bad the cruise wont turn on. It easy enough to check it with a jumper wire. Unplug the harness from the switch and jump the two connectors with a short piece of wire. Just be aware that there are 12v running thru the wire when the engine is running so make sure it's either wrapped or tied up where it wont short out.

Check the fuse box under the hood. I have one that blows when I back up with a trailer connected. Don't recall the number on it though. Odd that the only thing it kills is the cruise.

Make sure ALL tail lights and brake lights work, a burned bulb will disable the CC.
