yep its on the upper brake pedal arm,
some were to sensitive and would cause the cruise to cut off on bumpy highways
then the switch they put in was to some, to hard to trip
my 06 if you hit the pedal from the side with a good snap of the foot it would drop off
but if you tapped it on the edge like you were stopping it would not always cut off, but instead do like yours , speed right back up.

Have you ever changed out one of these switches to see if it made any difference? I've also noticed that when I press the brake to shift from park that it doesn't always want to shift out of park and I have to depress the pedal a few times before I can get the shifter to move from park. I believe this same switch works both the press to shift and the cruise deactivation.

What do you all think????????

Yes, it should be the same brake light switch that deactivates the park lock, and it should also cancel the cruise. It's main purpose in life is to turn on the brake lights when you hit the pedal, are you getting good brake lights? Can you wiggle the pedal and get them to come off/on intermittantly? If you can,it might narrow things down a bit. Another in depth way to check is to go to the switch on the pedal, and use a test light on the output wire to see if it acts up as well. If it does it needs a new swithch on the pedal. JMO
