Took the truck to Discount tire today to have the tires rotated and balanced......they called me out to the shop to have me look at the tread on one tire in the balancer as it was moving back and forth about 1/4-3/8".
They said Mr Tbar..........you have a bent wheel. I said........no, look at the edge of the rim........it is running true. Discount tire man says no we feel the rim is bent but to be sure we will take the tire off and spin the rim by itself. I said no problem......knock yourself out.
Sure enough.......nothing wrong with the wheel. Next they spun up another tire and it did the same thing. They looked at the sidewall and said it is starting to seperate.......we will order you two new tires covered under warranty. I said kool and left.
Next i went across the street to Firestone to get the front end aligned after having replaced the ball joints, track bar and front stabilizer shock a couple of weeks ago. They put all the equipment on it ran their test and called me out in the shop...........
They said........Mr Tbar, we find the front end on this truck to be within spec and there is nothing wrong with it. I looked at the print out and sure enough the numbers were within spec.
Wow...........207k with new ball joints, track bar and only one previous front end alignment and its still in spec..........I'm thinking I am waaaay ahead.
Truck still road walks a little bit and I am hoping uneven wear and broken sidewall belts on the front tires are the cause.
Heres hoping he new tires do the trick.
