Found a coolant leak under the truck(2012 F250) tonight. I have been smelling coolant for several months but just now found it dropping on the concrete.

Looks like the bottom left corner of the radiator or something in the area.

Wonder if there are any TSB's on it.

Aggravation.....!!!

Went to the dealership and got a gallon of coolant to top off the system until I can take it in for repair.

Get home and start to pour it directly into the reservoir(top off with water) and stopped....na, I am going to do it right and mix it 50/50 first. Found a clear container and started pouring.......and its yellow, not orange! I look at the bottle and it says VC-7 not VC-3!!! (both bottles are orange in color) Paper work is correct but they pulled the wrong product!

Not happy.....if I had poured the VC-7 in they could have voided my warranty if discovered.:rant

Got the radiator & coolant replaced under the 3/36 warranty and it was pretty painless. Doing some reading it looks like this is not an uncommon problem on these trucks.

I also got the computer reflashed under the recall. It seems to have made the truck a little peppier. Maybe tighter shift points.

I am glad Ford got their stuff together with this flash crap. I never had a good experience with my flashes. ;tu

Found out that this is real common on Ford diesel radiators. I went to my radiator shop and since I have a 2015 and they will not release to plastic end covers until 2020, I would have to replace the radiator. He gave me a tip and sent me down to the local AC Delco parts dealer to get AC Delco Cooling System Seal Tabs. Disconnect the upper hose, put three tabs into the radiator and reconnect the hose. PROBLEM FIXED for $2.41.
