i will try to take some pic today but the best way is here is the write up that built mine from i'am in maybe $ 50.00 pretty cheap to save motor amd water pump. Guzzle's7pt3.com look there he shows and tells you all that you need.

I change mine once a year but have never cut an old one in half.
IMO just as important as an oil bypass filter.
