I just installed a coolant filter kit from dieselsite.com on my '02. I'm a bit leery of how the filter is against the top radiator hose and wondered if anyone had a solution to keep it from wearing a hole in the hose. There is not any adjustment or "wiggle room" to get any clearance.

Thanks!

I just learned from Bob at the dieselsite.com that this is normal and will not rub a hole in the top radiator hose since the filter will not move independently of the hose.

I have Diesel Site's coolant filter in my '97. I zip tied the bypass hose as it snakes up from the waterpump so it wouldn't chafe my serp belt. After two years no chafe problems. Although yours is an '02, perhaps using zip ties will give you some piece of mind.

not to beat up bob, but
if it shakes, vibrates or wiggles.... its going to chafe through and most assuradly when you dont need it to
wrap it in a sacrificial peice of rubber or clamp it with good cushion clamps.
