Coolant filter mount?

Only problem with the alt mount is if you plan an intercooler someday. I'm going to have to relocate mine if and when I ever get mine in (it's been in the attic for a year already)! Cheers!

just curious, what are the benefits of a coolant filter, never heard of it before. thanks

It catches any sand left in the engine block after manufacture and keeps the coolant cleaner than not having one. It will allow for extended coolant changes, BUT don't forget to keep checking your SCA level.

I had one on my IDI and I used fleetguard filters that were charged with the SCA's so every 10K or so mikes I would spin on a new filter and go.

Hi Russ,

Check out my Pix of install in link below under truck folder. You will have to scroll down aways to see the pix and instructions. Happy with the mod save for when running in cold weather I leave it off. Suppose if I got round to a 203 degree stat that would make a difference though.

In addition to what hheynow mentioned about the casting sand.

HERE is a little more info on coolant filters and if you take some time, browse around the whole site as it is full of good info.
