Hello folks , Happy New Year to everyone.
I have a question concerning coolant loss, I have had this truck for about 5 months now , I've put 20,000 km (12,500 miles)on it . I have also had to add about a gallon of coolant (mix 50\50 with distilled water). Now to me this does not seem normal. Mostly highway driving I keep it around 100-110 km( 60-75 miles an hr)I know grandpappy speed , (diesel cheaper to make ,yet cost more to fill up !!!!!!!!!!!).
No loss underneath the truck ! so what gives , this has me worried , the engine only has 90,000 km (55,000 miles on it), bought it with 72,000 km on it, so it is still under warranty for the engine . So any suggestions would be nice.
Jim:thanks

I hate to say it, but this sounds like a blown head gasket to me. I am sure this is just what you want to hear.

Jim: i would have to agree w/ DaveBen. I had that issue and never had puddles underneath, but my headliner looked nasty. Best advise is to have the coolant resevoir tested. Simply little thing any car garage/repair shop could do. Good Luck

Agree with what has been stated already. However I think my experience with our fleet of 6.0, the usual suspect is the EGR cooler. But you will have to have this checked. We ran into the EGR Coolers being replaced first then it almost always turns to head gaskets, so be prepared.
