Considering a tuning device

I've had my truck almost a year now, and am thinking about getting a tune device. I've been reading through the comments and threads, and I see alot of opinions on personal favorites. Since I'm brand new to considering this, I'm wanting to make sure I make a good decision if I get one of these. I've heard alot about the power gains folks have gotten off of these, and I've also heard talk of certain tunes boosting MPG up. Anyone out there got some claims to the power and/or mpg boost they've actually gotten off of these? The biggest thing that bugs me about my truck is how the tranny wont go into and stay in torque converter lockup unless I'm doing better than 55. Let me hear some thoughts...

DP and TS/Tony Wildman are two other of the big brands people use. But since I don't personally own a 6.0 I'll let someone chime in with their experience with their chips/programmer. Personally, I like the chip better because you can change your setting going down the road.
