yes the truck runs. i was concerned by the blow by and lack of power and was looking for the causes aside from injectors. i have about $2500 to put into the suspension and injectors so i wanted to be sure it was an investment and that i was performing the correct tests and getting worthy results. If you all say it's good, then it's good.

DOC-MX, I purchased : Diesel 7.3L Glow Plug Adapter Toolsource #98248
Manufacturers Part Number #MVA5605 $21.50
Diesel Glow Plug Adapter - Ford Navistar 7.3L Power Stroke

this does not fit the HF quick connect fitting so i took it to a logging store and looked through the hydraulic fittings and found a quick coupler that had female threads on one end and the other, female quick connect ($6.00). it snapped over the adapter. in the HF kit there is a fitting with a compression nipple on one end and male threads on the other. i screwed the HF nipple onto the hydraulic fitting and that worked as a coupler between my GP adapter and HF compression tester.

let me know if this is confusing and i'll post a photo.
