CODE P2285...

started the truck this mourning and the engine light came on. beside that it was surging between 1000 and 1500 rpm. has anybody had this code before and what was done to fix the problem?


i have a feeling it is the sensor, from what i have read from another post on
here....

it is the one underneath the turbo.... ....(not on the valve cover, that would be to easy)

is this a common prblem on the 6.0?.....thanxs....

According to AE...Injector control pressure sensor circuit low.

Not sure on what model year the ICP sensor is in the VC and not under the turbo. I think late '03 may be under the turbo.

That is a very common problem w/ early 6.0's and the normal fix is to put a new Icp sensor in and also a pigtail. More likely than not the sensor is leaking internally and that is what caused the 2285 ckt code the oil is shorting out the sensor and harness. The new pigtail is necessary b/c yours is probably oil soaked and could cause a problem if not replaced w/ the sensor.
Oh, and you are right all 03 and early build 04 6.0's were under turbo by Ipr.
