Id just as soon that this thread doesnt turn political or gov't bashing but in light of the topic and where the discussion has turned its obviously headed that way.

I'll toss my :2c in. The media and the public have nothing to add but negative connotations to E85, its not up to us to engineer the proper equipment to make E85 work. Its put in an automobile and placed on the lot for us, the consumer, to use. pdt1081 already touched on it once in the thread, the goal is a zero emissions fuel cell of some sort. E85 is not the critter to get us there, we know it, the gov't knows it and so do the manufacturers of automobiles. So why would anybody want to invest money in getting this process to work well when we all know from the get go that it is a stop gap measure to begin with. Think back about 5 years to a little old auto manufacturer named Ford and their experience with a stop gap motor known as the 6.0L.

Now, if y'all will, please play nice so this thread doesnt turn into a mess.

well as youve also pointed out...its a stop gap...mostly a POLITICAL
stop gap...it appeases the tree huggers who cant take the time to
figure out the REAL impact. its semantics over substance.

the same bunch thats "pro-electric" cars wont let anyone build
a power plant (of any kind) so that you can CHARGE those cars back up.

If the goal IS zero emissions <and im not sure it is> itll never happen...
i thought e85 was a intended to reduce our dependance on foreign oil...
and all it REALLY did was increase the shortage & price of CORN !

i see nothing wrong w/ this thread/conversation...its naturally evolved...
but still focused on e85

Why would soy based bio-diesel be higher? E-85 is currently made from corn.:dunno

Why grow soy when the demand for corn just shot through the roof? That's why soy prices are going up. Everything was great until the government got involved and messed up the free market.

IMO shame on any body who believes that pollution should continue. I don't care how much more vehicles are going to cost. Being in the environmental business I am literally seeing the earth going to ruins. If we keep polluting there will be a demise to the world as you know it for your future generations.

I am to sick to write a more cognitive, rebuttal, so this is the best I can do for now.
