Ya, it sounds related all except the [dry bearing noise I am not sure of what that would sound like]. It defiantly sounds to me like a clutch problem, but they kept steering away from that for some reason. I did ask of it could be the clutch pressure plate or throw out bearing to the engineer and he said not likely, but then that’s when he just put a new drive shaft in it. So I called ford this morning, and got there permission to take it to a different dealer. There truck mechanics are older and seem to be more experienced so I got my fingers crossed. I really do not know what else to do at this point.

Kinda hard to put in words but: When I let the clutch out, It made a clicking noise, accompanied by a gritty groan.. then, as soon as I got some speed up, or shifted gears.. it went away. I knew it was the T O bearing... having had many manual tranys thru the years.

FWIW ? When I compared the Ford throw-out bearing (what was left of it) to the LUK replacement set up ?.. BIG apples & little oranges.

Hope you have better luck with another dealer. How 'bout a good 4x4 shop ?

Hey every one, I just settled with ford. They gave me a free extended warrantee because no one can figure this out. So I will take it and assume the part will let go before 100,000 miles. I don’t want a new truck. This is truck2 in 2 years and am afraid of what I may get next. So thanks for all the help.:)
