the word for Christ in Greek is Xristos. "Xmas" became popular in Europe in the 1500s.

next time you wonder about something, like "where did Xmas come from?".....dont let the thought slip away. take 5 minutes and FIND OUT!

honestly before i looked it up, i thought it was done in the highest form of respect, like Judaism does with the word "GOD". (often you will see G-D used.) to write his name would be the same as making him mortal, its a form of disrespect.
