How do I tell if my truck has been chiped it is a 2000 F350 4x4 7.3L diesel with a 6 speed trans.

This will only work if your truck has had a hard-wired chip installed (vs. a programmer) but if you remove the PCM (run a search for instructions) and the contacts are clean and shiny (vs. covered in a waxy coating), then you've had a chip installed.

does it smoke (black) when you romp on it??? even with a small towing tune it will puff a nice cloud if you peg it.
