I'd pass on it.

The price of the chip is rather average and not something that needs to be jumped on.

The K&N filter is not something you want. Oil impregnated air filters don't have a real good track record with diesels. Their effectiveness is lacking and some folks have reported indications of dust getting past the filter element.

Give DP-Tuner or Tony Wildman a good look for your tuning. You won't go wrong with either.

The thing to understand about diesels, the more fuel you can give it, the more power you make. When you make power, you make heat, and lots of it.
Before starting any mods, get some gauges, EGT, Boost and tranny temp. If you start modding without the ability to watch things like Exhaust Gas Temperatures, you may melt a piston if you can't monitor how hot things are getting. A up-graded exhaust system is another pretty much mandatory item before doing things like chips/tuners or turbos. If you go too big too soon on a chip or tuner without upgrading other the components of your engine, YOU WILL BE SORRY!! Instead of spending $$$ on upgrades, YOU WILL be spending $$$ on repairs that you could have spent on upgrades.

It's a viscious cycle refered to sometimes as PMS (Powerstroke Modification Syndrome).:dizzy

Was looking at that intake also.. found it on ebay for a decent price so that may be the first thing with the chip.

look in the wiki for the DIY intake. $50 for parts. save your bread for other things.

you don;t need a boost valve with stock injectors. its not gonna overfuel. i have tried!

you cant go wrong with either tony or dp tuner.

i have DP tuner flip with 80econo and 40 tow. they are both mild tunes. the 80econo is nice. while i have gauges, the econo tune does not change much from stock.
