why is it, these "free trade" agreements just seem to benefit the rest of the world?

and as part of the agreement
if our automotive assemblers(they don't manufacture crap, just put parts together) (ford, gm, chrylser/benz) and korean imports to US
only have to have 35% native content of the country exporting them
sooooo
65% can still be built in china, mexico, brazil, israel, iran, canada etc etc etc
and it can still be labled as made in USA or made in Korea
plus the assemblers get huge tax deferments and other perks that are not held accountable by either government

he steps off the soap box

but wait he remembers something funny about "free trade and all"

a few moons ago doing my undergrad research i was assigned a research topic of "oranges" yes simple little orange colored fruit that is packed with lots of good stuff for our bodies and dishes we cook
one would be surprised to learn that the USA and Brazil aren't even close at being the top world producers of oranges
Israel, Spain and Italy actually kick tail in that arena, but shipping fresh fruit from that distance is $$$$ so most is made int0 fresh concentrate or Frozen concentrate for re-animation stateside or what ever other country it is bound
and most of these producing countries are a very underworld like scene of corporate greed and control and most of these crops are controlled by three companies......one even has Florida in its name.....but its good because if some blight destroys one places crop....we still have several others with good fruit so the market stays fairly balanced
so why PB is this important to us.......?

well shortly after NAFTA (north America free trade agreement, or America job killer act) came into life it was discovered by American chicken producers that we Americans are fine consumers of poultry. We are breast biased.....chicken that is...stay on topic.
it was discovered that the chicken producers were finding themselves with a huge inventory of chicken parts (legs, backs, thighs, necks) that could simply not be made into mcnuggets, pet food or chicken patties. because we like BREASTS.

it was found that the Mexican peoples were fond of all the Chicken. And our pompous selves were getting fat on breasts and the producers were running out of places to grind up and use chicken. So what do you think our smart American, can do minds did? YEP we sent all them left over chicken parts to Mexico, sans any tariffs and we American chicken producers just about put the Mexican chicken farmer out of business with our LOW price left overs.....well this didnt go over well with Mexico and they tried to stop it.....but it was to late. NAFTA was up and running we were making $$$$ on chicken parts....we actually were producing chicken for less than the Mexican famers
so they got us with some snuck in additions on other products they exported back to us....but still remain KING of chicken parts

it is truly amazing to think about just how many left over chicken parts we have.
think about your pet food, it has chicken meal, your livestock food...chicken meal, chicken broth, KFC bucket O chcicken
and we still have to much left over

digest at your discretion
