Even if it had a diesel, I would never buy another Guberment Motors vehicle. Smart move on thier part for publicity if nothing else. I currently own a '06 Lacrosse, but my next car will be a Fusion or an Accord. I used to buy exclusively GM and NOTHING else until I bought my SD diesel in '01.

The new global Ranger is too close in size to the F-150, and would cannibalize sales of the F-150 if it were brought here. Ford will not bring the Ranger to the North American market.

I saw an article a day or so ago that mentioned GM wanted to merge with Ford before the government takeover. Wagoner went to Mulally with the idea and Mulally (thank God) flatly turned him down.

At one time there were strong rumors of Ford replacing the Ranger with a new F-100 which would also contribute to the sales of the F-Series. They could take this new Ranger, rebadge it as the F-100, put the EcoBoost 4 cylinder in it and have a good, smaller, and very economical truck for those not wanting the F-150. Just my 2 cents.

There is a guy here in tampa that sells that almost a truck here in 4x4 only. Would be a cool hunting truck.
